Congratulations to Troop 834’s newest Eagle Scouts!
Nikhil Prasad
Nikhil has been a very active scout with Troop 834 going on many weekend camping trips and summer camps. Nikhil’s Eagle project was to assist the South Park Children’s Theater by constructing from scratch a storage locker for set design materials. Nikhil is a graduate of South Fayette High School and is now a freshman at Penn State University.
Howard Clellen
Howie began as a Cub Scout and crossed over to Troop 834 and has been active for all these years as scout. His Eagle scout project was to restore and repaint large and many sections of fencing at his church. Howie is a junior at Chartiers Valley High School.
Brogan Nagy
Brogan joined scouts years ago and has kept going to Eagle! He has been an active Order of the Arrow member and has attended the OA conclave. Brogan’s project was to revitalize the camping area at the Montour trail near Cecil-Henderson Road. Brogan is a senior at South Fayette High School.
Congratulations to Troop 834’s newest Eagle Scout: David Hand!
Boy Scout Troop 834 congratulates David Hand, of Bridgeville, on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on Feb 7, 2023
David (CVSD 2023) is the son of Tom and Liz Hand and the brother of Lucy (CVSD 2018) and Niles (CVSD 2016 and a fellow Eagle Scout). He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 834, now chartered at New Life Church in Bridgeville.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project. For his project, David refurbished and updated meeting spaces at Corpus Christi Parish’s Assumption Hall. This much needed update allowed the Parish to have two new handicapped accessible meeting spaces.
As a senior at Chartiers Valley, David is a 4 year member of the Showband, concert band, jazz band and a member of the National Honor Society. This year, David serves as drumline captain and band treasurer. After graduation, David plans to attend a 4 year university majoring in engineering.
Troop 834 conducted an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on June 6, 2021 for Brendan Nangle. Brendan became the troop’s 149th Eagle Scout after completing all requirements for Eagle scout by his December birthday. Brendan began his scouting career in 2009 and completed his Arrow of Light in 2014 when he crossed over from Pack 262 into Troop 834. To complete requirements for his Eagle Scout, his service project was to build new benches for the South Park Children’s theater where has performed in the past.
Congratulations to Niles Hand and David Domalik, who, after completing their Boards of Review Tuesday night, have successfully completed the rank of Eagle Scout!
