It’s time again for the annual BSA Popcorn fundraiser. Be sure to check out details here. This is a chance for you to earn money for both the troop and your own scout account. Details, order form and due dates posted here.
Scouts who need a Scoutmaster Conference should schedule a time other than a troop meeting to complete one. Chip will be available most evenings (except Monday) at the church. Boards of Review for those scouts will then be held at the following troop meeting. Remember: all scouts having a Board of Review are expected to be in full uniform with their handbook.
Life Scouts working on their Eagle Projects should also schedule times to meet with Chip.
- The main discussion at this meeting was preparing for summer camp, followed by a game of Ultimate Frisbee.
- Discs of pictures from the Niagara Falls USA trip were handed out. If you went on the trip but did not receive a disc see Chip. The pictures can also be viewed here.
Help support the troop with our Super Bowl Hoagie Sale! Order forms were distributed at the last meeting and are due on January 30 at 12 pm. If you need to download the forms or have orders to turn in, visit the Hoagie Sale Fundraising page.

If you’ve seen the old Troop 834 website, you know how much an update was needed. This is it – the new Troop 834 website. It should help potential scouts find the troop online. For current scouters in Troop 834, the website should also help you know everything that goes on with the troop through the calendar, blog, and pictures in addition to acting as a resource, a 24/7 way to contact the troop, and a method to document troop members and activities.
To find the website, I suggest typing www.troop834.org into the address bar of your web browser. When you first get on the website, make an account by clicking Login in the top right corner. The account will enable you to view member-only pages and comment on posts. From there, feel free to explore the website. If you find any mistakes or want to see something on the website, please let us know.
The website is mainly run by me, David Domalik (scout webmaster), with some help by Mr. Nangle (adult webmaster). I added all the content into the website and will be keeping all of the pages up-to-date, including writing most of the blog posts. I have tons of additional features and information that I plan to add to the website, so keep your eyes open for any changes.
I hope you enjoy the new Troop 834 website!
