Leadership & PLC

Leadership in Scouting is a core part of each Scout’s personal growth, and the Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC) is the key structure where youth leaders take on real responsibility. Because Scouting is designed to be a Scout‑led organization, the PLC plays an essential role in guiding the troop’s direction and making decisions that shape the overall program.

  • Youth‑Led Planning: The PLC is responsible for planning all troop meetings, activities, events, and outings, ensuring the program reflects the interests and goals of the Scouts themselves.
  • Leadership in Action: Serving on the PLC gives Scouts hands‑on experience with leadership, communication, and teamwork as they carry out the responsibilities needed to run the troop.
